Description: Honey is beautiful and really wants to be friendly... something in her past has made her distrustful. Honey was rescued from an abandoned building off of Main Street in Roseville where she had been hiding for several weeks. Neighbors all around had been feeding her, but the situation was dire. I trapped her in early August, and she has been staying in my spare bedroom since. Honey is VERY timid. In the two weeks before I returned to school in August, I spent time with her several times in a day.... she allowed me to touch her finally, and even let me rub her tummy (which she loves). Then I moved the furniture to have easier access to her, and she returned to her distrustful ways. I started back at school and have not had time to really get her to trust me again. Since getting her tested (all are negative) I have allowed Honey to roam the house and interact with my other cats. She still stays under the bed, and will not let me approach her (I keep trying), but she is calming down some, and she does not seem to have a problem with the other cats... though there isn’t close interaction as yet. Honey will growl and hiss at you if you corner her, but has never bitten or even nipped at me. She reliably uses the litter box, and has never had an accident. If there were someone (a Siamese aficionado?) with the time and who was willing to help her, she would be a wonderful pet.
