Bast came to FieldHaven VERY overweight. In an attempt to control his diet, Penny agreed to "foster" him. She soon fell in love and he found his forever home. However, as you can see by this heartfelt email she recently sent, Bast still has a little ways to go on his weight loss plan.

Penny writes:

So its finally quite time in our house at 9PM last night....Denny and I settle in to watch the 5 O'clock news (thank goodness for Tivo). Bobby is done with homework and playing on the computer and the call comes in.....

Its our little ol elderly neighbor, recently widowed and frantic on the line... Penny, she says, you still do kitty rescue don't you? Before I can answer, she tells me there is a mother kitty scratching at her back patio - frantic for food. She is so pregnant, she is going to give birth anytime. She also says she is so afraid she will have the babies in her garage. She leaves the door ajar for her kitties to come and go.

So, we spring into action....Denny gets a large litter pan and picks out just the right bed for our momma to be. Bobby checks the den to make sure we are all ready there for our new addition.

Bobby then takes off for the neighbor's house to rescue the momma kitty as Denny and I scurry in the kitchen preparing a feast for a king...We hear Bobby coming home, as the excitement builds...

Bobby enters with our new bundle of joy.....

Not a pregnant momma...Not even a dumped kitty...ITS BAST!! He hates diet food and is now impersonating a pregnant female to get a meal...Is that sad or what. I think he needs a therapist!
