Khaz, Fennster, and Pif (formerly Jude, Albert, Prudence)
What a long strange journey it has been. We were foster failures with our first batch of kittens. We wanted to adopt just two because, really, even 2 was 1 too many for our house. But while trying to adopt out Fennster, we discovered he (and his brother Khaz) had a very rare collagen disorder that makes their skin and joints super stretchy and very easily torn. After this discovery, poor little Fennster couldn't make it to any more adoption events because he was constantly in stitches, and then...after becoming a frequent flyer at the vet and given the title "Drama King" for his severe dislike of the place, he dislocated his hip and had to have half of the joint removed! AND to (mostly) prevent the need for more stitches, had and his brother had to get declawed on all four paws. Not to mention Fennster's bizzare skin inflammation that has to be lasered. *sigh* I think I understand why he hates that place.
How could this poor little kitty, not even a year old yet, make it through all of this?? He is the spunkiest cat we know and that is how he won our hearts and made us decide to keep him. So there's more litter boxes in our house then bathrooms....it's nothing compared to how much our hearts swell when we think of how brave this kitty is.
Since his major operation, Fennster has been in and out of the vet for a few more sets of stitches and a few other things. He's not the alpha male of the group that he once was...his sister took over that job! But he gives the best headbutts of the whole litter!
