Foster Care Program

  Love Cats and Kittens??
Kitten season is on the way and we're looking for foster homes.

Fostering means taking kittens or cats into your home and caring for them until they are ready for adoption. Our foster care program is vital to saving lives. Taking cats or kittens into foster care gives them an opportunity to be socialized. Without foster homes, we cannot rescue as many pets. And, with kitten season just around the corner, we are looking for qualified foster homes.

What it takes to be a foster parent:  You need to have the time to care for your foster kitties, giving them the time and attention to be sure they are healthy and used to all things human. You may have to administer medications and monitor their health, weight and temperature. You will want to become familiar with their individual personalities so that you can assist our adoption counselors in placing them in the best "forever" home. You may also be asked to interview potential adopters or to follow-up after they have been adopted.

FieldHaven volunteers will be available to answer your questions and help you assess any health related issues. You will report on your foster kitties' progress through our internet-based shelter management system.

Expense:  FieldHaven will provide food, medical care and medications. Foster parents provide litter, toys and other items.

Please help us save the lives of unwanted pets!

Your help is desperately needed.
