Low and No Cost Spay and Neuter

Alley Cat Allies reports that over 70% of cats who enter our nation's public animal shelters are killed. That number jumps to virtually 100% for feral cats. FieldHaven is doing our part to reduce those numbers in the Lincoln, Sheridan, Loomis, and Rocklin areas, by assisting the community with low and no-cost spay/neuter.

Need to Find a Home for Your Cat?

Do you need to rehome your cat? At FieldHaven, we make every effort to assist every cat that needs a new home; but due to space limitations, we are only able to accept a small percentage of the cats we are requested to take in. However, there are options other than surrendering your cat to FieldHaven or another shelter. Our Community/Cat Assistance Team (CAT) is very experienced in providing adoption assistance and alternate resources to help you find a solution to meet your needs.

Families that are willing to keep their cats until adoption can utilize our Courtesy Listing Program by filling out a Courtesy Listing/Surrender Application on line, or calling our help line, at 916-434-6022, for details. If you meet the minimum requirements listed on the application, we will post your cat on our website with our adoptables, and provide opportunities for you to show your kitties at our outreach adoption events.

Feral (Wild) Cats a Problem?

Because a large part of the community that FieldHaven serves is rural, there is a real need for (Trap/Neuter Release) TNR services to keep the feral cat population under control. We have experienced TNR volunteers that can assist with trapping, spay/neuter, vaccinations, surgical recovery, and returning feral cats to their original location, at little or no cost to you. We only ask for a commitment to provide food, water, and some place to hide from predators and weather until the population is naturally reduced through attrition. Call our help line, 916-434-6022, for details.

Occasionally, we need to "relocate" feral cats. If you have a barn or ranch, and would be interested in providing food, water, and shelter for a neutered and vaccinated feral cat in exchange for chemical free rodent control, please let us know. See our website for more information on our Rodent Raiders or call 916-434-6022.

Now accepted at:

PetSmart and PETCO

Your donations of used books, CDs and DVDs help support FieldHaven - in 2008 more than $6,000 was raised! In addition to dropping your book donations at FieldHaven, you can now drop them off at PetSmart in Lincoln and Petco in Rocklin, during our weekend adoption hours at each location.

Did You Know?

TNR programs gradually reduce the numbers and improve the quality of life for both feral cats and the communities in which they live. The behaviors and stresses associated with mating, such as yowling or fighting virtually stop and vaccinating these cats reduces the threat of disease where they live.
