Did You Know?
Catnippers and FixNation, the only full-time spay/neuter clinic in the nation, recently celebrated their 25,000th fix.
In 1999, Best Friends Catnippers, an all-volunteer spay/neuter outreach program devoted primarily to homeless cats, was founded by Mark Dodge and his wife Karn Myers with the support of Best Friends Animal Society.
In 2007, FixNation, the first full-time spay/neuter clinic was launched by Mark and Karn with grants from PetSmart Charities, Best Friends Animal Society, the Found Animals Foundation, and other private donors.
FixNation and Catnippers now operate in the same building and are dedicated to implementing trap/neuter/return (TNR) for feral cats in Los Angeles County. Their goal is to reach a point where a homeless cat overpopulation problem no longer exists in Los Angeles. For more information, see their website. |
