This is another story of the wonderful partnership we have with Placer County Animal Services (and
several other animal control agencies). The staff at PCAS is so caring -- when they recognize that a
cat is not likely to get adopted from their shelter, they will call us. In May we received a call
about 3 cats that were in danger of being euthanized due to space (Bast, Marla and Sarah). We
brought all of them into FieldHaven and all have been adopted. This is a story Sarah's new mom sent us:
Hi Fieldhaven Volunteers:
In July I adopted Sarah Placer. We met when I was volunteering at Fieldhaven on Friday mornings and I was
taken with her friendliness and good nature. Today, she is the cute little face that greets me and all my
friends that come to my door. Cats I have had in the past were very independent and would spend a lot of
time by themselves. Not Sarah. She is never to far from me and follows me around like a puppy. Most of
the time she is next to me when I fall asleep and wakes me with a kiss in the mornings. All she asks in
return is lots of affection. A small thing to give in return for a sweet companion.
I am attaching a drawing I have done from a photo of Sarah in pastels. It's a great way to pay tribute
to a favorite pet.
If you or anyone you know would like a similar rememberance, please let me know. I can be reached either
by
or by phone---(916) 409-0980.
Creatively yours,
Jalna Marcovici
